SUGAR NO MORE!!!!

On this 2nd pregnancy, I was enjoying eating foods to the fullest!
Orang kata peluang makan jangan dilepaskan..
Hasilnye..I keep gaining my weight week by week..
And now,I was at 64kg..7kgs extra for the past 6months...
I just realized that I started to develop sweet tooth cravings since I was at 5months pregnancy..
Ada je terlintas nak makan cake la..choc,donut..
Even kalau kat office pengat pisang pun boleh teringin nak makan..hishhihihs!!!
So balik office or during weekend,mulalah nak itu ini..

Worst things..I was eating like lupa diri ..
Almost forgot that my last pregnancy I was suspected to have gestational diabetes..
* tak lupa sebenarnye..saje nak enjoy before the next GTT..ahaks!!

Teringat time pregnant Adam dulu..
Just after the 1st trimester, I gained 3 kgs in a week..
Biasalah..nurse bising lalu suruh I buat GTT (Glucose Tolerance Test)..
Worst thing..GTT time tu result 8.0..so nak tak nak I have to start to monitor my blood sugar profile (BSP)..
And even jumpe dietitian to advice me on diet that I shud take..
Hasilnye..I just gained about 9kgs throught out my 1st pregnancy..
And Alhamdulillah..during all the BSP test and HbA1C test also..I was at normal level..
Since I was scared with all the info I read about the gestational diabetes, I decided to follow my gynae to keep monitoring my sugar profile..

And at 2nd pregnancy, since I have history during my last pregnancy, so Prof Siti asked me to do the GTT again..
* Ya Allah..fobia nye minum air gula ni..yuck!!
So last 2weeks,on Saturday morning we went for GTT at UMSC...

Compare to last GTT, air gula ni ok sket sb ada perisa orange...hahaha...!!
1 pack tu about 75g sugar dilute in a glass of water..pengsan!!!
3 days after that, the results out!...
And again..this time it was at border line..OMG!
* Apalah Nadia ni...patutnye after minum pergilah jalan2 sket..baru lemak terbakar..ni duduk lepak cafe sambil surf internet!!
So nak tak nak..I have to start monitor my sugar profile..and control my diet too..;(
Of course foods with hi sugar intake should be avoided!
No more cakes,choc, donut...sorry baby!!
Tak pe untuk kebaikan bersama....;)

So far my last check, everything was OK..
Continue to do for every week..

Hopefully everything goes well..
I was happy to do this compare last time I have to go clinic about 4 times per day..;(
In fact I was happy that I need to control my diet too..
Risau jgak naik mendadak specially towards end of trimester ni..
So nak tak nak..bye bye sweet tooth!!

Nadia.. i masa preggy imran dulu, pernah 1 month tuh hari2 makan chocs ok.. akibatnya that month naik 3 kg.. doc pun bagi ceramah panjang lebar.. hahaha.. biasalah.. kadang2 tokle control.. but if kena control due to health reason, better be safe than sorry kan..

nad..benda ni la paling ditakuti time pregnant kan..huhu

sy dulu ade high BP..tapi tu pon msa kandungan masuk 36 weeks..huhu

Good info Nadia. Even i'm not a sweet tooth person even on my last pregnancy, i hope this can be my guidance. Mana lah tau kan!!!!!!

Owh dear, you're 64 kg and 6th month pregnancy? Berat kita sama!!! :( and i'm not even pregnant yet. Huwaaaa..

Betul..since dah at border line ni..nk taknk kena control jgak!

OMG takutnya i..! actually kn izu pun craving benda2 manis jgk kalini..teruk hokey..asyik mkn coklat je kt sini..dh la masa Iris i was gestational diabetic too, 12 lg!! tp nasib baik tk smpi kene wt GTT tu..org kata mmg 'yuck' kn minum air gula tu..:(

Risau, risau, risau. sbb smlm 1st time check up kt spital sini n derg amik blood test..tp result nxt week br tau..i hope my sugar level okla..:D nmpknya i pon kne ctrl my diet too since i dh 58kg ni..u tk pe la u tgi dear..tk nmpk sgt ;)

hari ni kena gi check-up, midwife kata kena buat GTT (mmg wajib buat kat sini on 3rd trimester) ari ni. harap2 ok je la result. 1st pregnancy dulu tak pernah disuruh buat GTT, so tak tau cmne rasa air gula tu..org kata seksa nak minumnya..betul ek?

12 is consider hi, tp mujr tak yah minum air gula..
mmg boleh pening minum air gula tu..
tp ada falvor ni ok sket..hehehe

Kt UMSC pun I dgr everyone kena buat GTT jgak skrang..
Its gud actually, eventho without history of diebetic, possiblity to get this during preg tu ada..

seksa tu takde lah sgt..
just ensure 2,3 teguk je..kalau minum ala2 pekena teh tarik..itu mmg boleh jadik loya..hehehe..

Nad, I'm not a sweet tooth kind of person tp masa mengandungkan faaz everytime buat urine test ade sugar trace sampai i kena buat d test jugak. since i x suka manis u tau, the minute i finished drinking, terus termuntah mcm paip pecah! huhuhu...lab asst tu pun sian kat I, nasib baik x kena ulang balik. tipu sket kat Dr. ckp muntah sket je..hehe

Lepas tu I tried pegi check up before breakfast. Br x de sugar trace. Kalau I pegi checkup lepas breakfast je mesti ade padahal I minum air suam je. It must be inside the bread or nasi lemak I took dulu..huhu

2nd pregnancy ni harap2 tak payahla kena minum air gula yg yuck tu..ameen!

Actually me too not a sweet tooth kind person..this time pegnen je yg tiba2..
in fact pengat pisang I tak suka makan sb manis..tp kali ni boleh layan tau!
Time preg Adam dulu, I kn buat GTT sb increased weight rapidly, sugar trace I tak pernah failed..

so babe..since u said u always fail the sugar trace, I suggest u to do the GTT..
sb g.d ni just happen during preg sb insulin kita tak boleh nak match with glucose..hormon dah tak stable kn..
complication to baby if we had g.d ni, worst baby boleh meninggal dlm perut..
or less pun, baby akan jadik besar..so dr akan bg u extra attention..

So if u did the GTT and confirm u are free from g.b at least u dont have to worry about ur diet..

bab diet plak..kalau ada g.b, bukan sahaja kena control sugar intake..since sugar came from karbohidrat,all glucose family..
cr diet pun beza..
we have to control intake of rice..even nk take fruits pun, must be after the meals..
sb sugar dlm fruits can straight away goes to our blood stream..so very dangerous..
nak minum fruit juice pun tak digalakkan..
even fresh milk pun nak kn tgk..takut sucrose hi..kena avoid..

sorry gal, panjang plak I explain..
Just to let u know,so that we can take earlier precautions..

btw,its true..before bfast, our sugar rate mmg rendah..normal at this time it just around 4.0 reading..after u take bread,rice or anything mmg akan hi..
so kalau nk pergi check up..ensure u dah bfast 2hrs earlier..or else make after ur urine test..hehehe..
drink alot of water..
tips drp experience...hehehe ;)

ehh babe, when i was carrying aydein dulu pon i kena gestational diabetes tau. sobs sobs. so mmg makan asek kene control je. seksa betol! but now dah ok dah alhamdulillah. pape pon u better take care of ur health ok! stay healthy, girl! ;)

ps : orang kata kalau asek ngidam nak makan manis-manis je ni, yang dalam tu pon muka manis-manis jugak, aka girl. :P
