Whatever it is, today I'm super duper happy!!Setelah sekian lama menanti, akhirnya saya boleh cash out my earning yeaahhhhaaa!!!To be honest, I wasnt expect to get this earning after my last cash out, last year. Alang2 cite pasal Nuffnang today, I plan to write down some tips that I got from our lovely Nuffies, Thara recently.*babe, hope u dont mind I'm sharing this with my fab readers* Since my last entry about Nuffnang and my 1st-ever cheque received, few of my friends and blog readers approached and asking about Nuffnang and plus the most brilliant question on how to earn money from Nuffnang.*Actually malu nak buat entry, sapelah saya >.<* Honestly, blog picisan macam I ni memang tak ramai unique viewers per day/month pun, but initiative masa awal2 dulu, I rajin jugak menjengah dan membaca entry on how to tackle nuffnang campaign and get earning from Nuffnang. Started from that I tried to apply their tips to get more ads. Even now,so glad to see few of my readers started to grab these chances by placing the nuffnang ads at their site. But gals, there are few more points need to be considered. Thanks alot Thara for sharing. Before that, lemme explain in general on few terms that usually being used in Nuffnang account. When u sign in with Nuffnang, u will see cloumn "earning" in the horizontal bar as above. There a four type of earning that u need to know:

1. CPC Campaign:

You earn by the number of unique clicks generated by your unique visitors on the ad unit that is running the CPC campaign. Your earnings will be credited 3 days after the CPC campaign ends. A CPC campaign ends when it reaches its maximum number of clicks. Should your blog display a CPC ad but not generate any clicks on the ad unit, no earnings will be accumulated and updated. *Some bloggers said, the highest ads released after 12 am, time to kalu bnyk click, the higher earning will get. But remember of the click fraud!!* Updated payment for CPC will be paid under column Campaign (per below image).

Blogger lain, BE mak aiii bersusun2, saya kadang2 je boleh dapat bnyk. Ini pun harini baru masuk 1 lagik. Sedey gile.

2. MCPM (Metered CPM) campaigns:

Advertisers buy a set of unique visitors from your blog that will be able to see their ads on your blog for a certain number of weeks. The earnings for your Metered CPM campaign will be held in Buffered Earnings while the campaign is running till your blog finish serving the number of uniques the advertisers bought from your blog. Once your blog finish serving the number of uniques, the earnings will be credited to your Current Earnings. Compare to CPC, buffered earning (BE) will be running on daily basis. BE will be paid per unique visitors, the higher ur UV, the higher earning of daily BE u will get. Many bloggers yang ramai followers and readers, rely on this campaign. Boleh masyuk jugak.

3. Sponsored Post (previously known as advertorial):

Last but not least, but the most precious campaign from Nuffnang is Sponsored Post. It is very special campaign, thus those selected blogger who being approached by nuffies (nuffang staff) only will do writing for sponsored post. The nuffies will promote your blog to the advertiser, once the agreement made, the blogger will accept invitation and do posting as per request. Memang susah nak dpt pun, but once dapat hulahoop lah jawabnye. The payment will be made once the post published and it will be appeared inside column Sponsored Post. Blogger femes memang banyak dapat ni. Rezeki diorang kan. Lagipun unique viewers dia tinggi.

Ok, dah faham serba sedikit pasal type of campaign, lets now focus on how to attract the advertiser to get the campaign. Lets read what Thara said:

Actually, besides update regularly, there are some things that we always tell our bloggers to do, to increase their chance to get CPM campaigns (most bloggers refer it as BE). Not sure if you've seen this being shared in some of our bloggers blogs, but this is what we normally tell them when they seek our advice on 'how to get BE' :)

Now, in order for you to get a column for "Buffered Earning" in your "Earnings", you will first need to be selected by the advertisers to do CPM campaigns for them. There are several factors that would determine your chances of being selected for CPM campaigns.

As advertisers always have a target audience for their campaigns to address to, they will choose blogs with suitable blog readers as their target audience. Should your blog readers fall into that category, rest assure that you're very likely to be picked by them. Many bloggers who do not fill in their blog surveys properly may find themselves not receiving ad campaigns from advertisers frequently. This is due to the fact that the survey actually helps advertisers know the bloggers' blogs better. Blogs registered without completed surveys are often ignored by advertisers as they do not know if your blog's reach is suitable for their campaign or not. As such, we highly recommend for you to ensure that all your blogs' surveys are filled and updated from time to time.

Desirability of ad placement is crucial in the advertising industry. Advertisers spend a lot of money to design an ad and buy ad space. They want to get their message across to their target audience as effectively as they could. This being said, they will always buy ad spaces which are optimized and desirably placed. Just ensure that your ad units are at their intended place and this factor would be satisfied in the eyes of the advertisers. A Skyscraper ad unit is supposed to be the first element of the sidebar and not anywhere else. The same goes for Leaderboard as the first visible element upon visitor's entry to the site and Large Rectangle right after your first blog post. Should your blog's ad units not be located at these placements, it would severely affect advertisers' decision to advertise on your blog as there are plenty of other blogs under our network with perfect placement of the ad unit.

In addition, availability of ad units plays an important role for bloggers to be chosen for campaigns as well. All our advertisers split their budget evenly across all our 3 ad units, Leaderboard, Skyscraper and Large Rectangle whenever they advertise with us. That being said, the budget would be limited and might not be able to cover that many blogs for a particular ad unit. If your blog have all 3 ad units in it, your chances of being selected for campaigns would be fully maximized.

Membership exclusivity plays a part in advertisement campaigns as our advertisers tend to advertise more on Glitterati blogs as it is part of our reward program to our most loyal bloggers in the region. Ordinary members will still be selected for campaigns but in a lower number compared to Glitterati's.

We'll do our best to sell the ad units of our bloggers as long as they're optimized and within our protocols. If the ad units are not optimized or they're not in the best interest for the advertisers, we cannot defile the practice of our company's policies and have our advertisers advertise on blogs which do not yield the best results for their campaigns. I hope that you will understand that it is important for advertisers to achieve satisfactory results for their campaigns in order for them to advertise more on blogs.

Therefore, you need to make sure you take all the necessary actions to increase your chance to get noticed, such as updating your blog regularly, place your ad units at the right place in order for them to get noticed by the advertisers, and etc. If you're lucky, and the Advertisers chooses you for their CPM campaign, then there's a good chance for you to have some figures in your "Buffered Earning" column!

So gals, how is it?? Got the ideas. Start review back ur blog and re-arrange the ads location. Furthermore, besides of our daily readers, there one category people u need to consider when we make entry. People who search info from the searching engine.Thus, title of your entry is very important. Tahulah je lah zaman sekarang, semua benda dihujung jari. So when we write informative entry specially, people will come to search us using the keywords from the searching engine. Example:

Many visitors looking for breastfeeeding and Medela info..

Kindy Hunting Mode

Part 1 : Survey and list up!!

Macam susah benor nak carik tadika ek. Since last year, duk nak carik pre-school yg sesuai, alih2 Adam still dekat current nursery, enrolled for 4yo kindy. So this year, I need to start early. At least once dah pre-book, time open day nanti (around Nov to Dec), just bawak Adam je, amik mood. Sekarang ni nak carik kindy yg bagus tak susah. Banyak sgt, from montessori to islamic montessori, most of the normal preschools/kindergartens pun mesti pakai method yg sesuai.*sedia duit tebaii je dalam poket kan *But for me, I have many factors that need to be considered before decide to enroll Adam for his 5years old pre-school.

1. Within our daily route..

The most important thing when surveying the kindy is, it shud be in our daily route to office. Pergi balik keje masuk hway, manenye nak jumpa tadika. So far, there are few areas which have been listed. Those area yg tak stuck jammed tho we need to make u-turn after sending Adam. Ntah2, after this we are no longer used our daily route anymore. huhuhuhu. Area yg memang terkenal dengan tahap jammed yg serius harus dipangkah awal2. So nanti, after shortlisted possible kindy, harus kena testing pagi2 tengok tahap jam and set time nk kuar rumah. Kalau tak, harus keje start 8.30am hari2!!Few areas such Batu3 housing area, Pinggiran Subang, Seksyen 23, USJ 3, USJ 12 and paling jauh SS17 or Putra Heights.

2. Kindy + daycare..

Earlier surveys , some of the kindy/preschools will only provide class untill 12.30 - 1 pm. Meaning that, after school, me or Mr Hubby need to fetch him from kinddy to his nursery. Or else we need to get transportation for his transit. Which both of the ideas are not convenience for us. Hubby is totally against the kindy transportation idea *macam kelakar Adam naik bus sekolah* and to fetch him after school is something totally impossible. So, we need to find kinddy with daycare. And most of them with hi fees. *Lap peloh*

3. Islamic montessori..

Yes, I prefer islamic montessori. So far module under islamic montessori are very convincing. Besides of normal montessori curiculum, they also include Islamic studies as basics to the kids. For me, it is really important to expose the kids at early of their age. Nanti boleh tamat muqaddam before darjah 1 mcm mommy dia >.<, tp budak sekarang pakai Iqra' lagik cepat kan.InsyaAllah.

4. Fee structure..

The most important!!K-Ching$$$

If government has started to give some money to support parents to start school, they need to consider for parents who start to send the kids to kindy too.Seriously!!Many of kindy surveyed, registration fees nak smp RM1k tak termasuk monthly fees lagik. Amboooiii!!!Regardless normal kindy at rumah teres dalam batu3 sekali pun, with less props used, claimed of using islamic method, they registration fees pun mesti RM1k jugak. omoomomomo!!!Haruslah start menabung dr sekarang, masuk ASB, hujung tahun boleh dpt dividen nak byr tadika anak. Saddis!!;(

Apapun, surveying from website is not enough. They can claim using wat-so-ever method, site visit is very important. Tengok sendiri in actual. Mingle around with teachers. And once dah puas hati baru boleh enroll. Few of pre-school/kindergarten *wat-so-ever they called* now inside my list are:

Or anyone within my areas, boleh suggest tadika yang boleh dilawati. You're most welcome. InsyaAllah, will make review for each kindy yang akan dilawati nanti. Our 2D1N CNY Gateway..

Since we have family gathering on CNY eve at hubby's aunty's house, we need to cancel plan to go back to Terengganu on that 1st long holidays. *last week dah balik Terengganu, seronok walau penat!!* Nak jalan ke utara or selatan at first, last sekali cancel plan sb takut jammed. But we need to go somewhere or else, susah lagik nak jumpa cuti panjang in next March till errr I guess cuti raya lah kut yang paling lama nanti. *kes sayang cuti*

Gong Xi Gong Xi...

Plan has been set 2 weeks before holidays, and on the CNY day, we make move to our destination for short getaway..

Taraaaa...

Its Hotel Maya Kuala Lumpur..

Opposite Zouk and Saloma Bistro and 8 min walk to KLCC..

wuhahahaa..

15-20 min from our house using a federal highway minus jammed!

*Jakun benor tak pernah pergi bercuti KL ke?? Yes I am >.<*

But if you one of my loyal reader, u all mesti tahu kan, trend bercuti mommynadia n family. A very short distance gateway. Sebab I tak bnyk cuti and last year sebbok duk production baby Ryan. But I love short gateway, at least boleh tenangkan jiwa dan minda, example staying at very comfortable ambiance hotel. Pehhh! Ye lah, kalau nak tunggu company I hantar I pergi training hotel 4 - 5 stars, sampai resign pun tak akan!! So pandai2 le..

Check in at 2 pm sharp, wish I could make it earlier..

Because of their unique design..memang pelik.
Style coridor pun macam2 ala rumah flat gitu..open ..

The moment we stepped in to our room, I felt so relieved. At least not much different with the picture I googled before. The view from the room was nice, full view of KLCC.
And we cannot wait to start our vacation in hotel. Sounds weird.hikhikhik.

Basicly, our activity during this short gateway just only inside the hotel. *Dinner je kami pergi KLCC* The rest, we were fully utilized all the facilities plus the empuk tilam yg memang dah lelap tak boleh bangun punye!!

One of the best attraction is their hydrotherapy pool..

As long as it suitable for the kids, enuff said..

While waiting for Maghrib prayers to get ready for dinner, hubby got their One-Call-Centre to get DVD rental. Banyak jugak lah movie listed in their DVD Menu for Rental. After a quick dinner at KLCC, we immediately ran back to hotel for Sky Lounge session at Level 13.

And they have free flow coffee/ tea with some cakes/biscuits..

Yum yum!!!

Next monring, breakfast was served at Maya Brasserie. Its a really great wake up. Even not much foods served compared to other 5stars hotel, but is more than enough for us to have big breakfast.

Selain swimming pool kat level 3, gym and spa pun ada..

The spa smell from Anggun Spa is so relaxing n wangiiiii..

Adoiii memanggil-manggil daku yang duk bersantai tepi kolam ni..

dah berapa kali pergi jengah bilik spa...

Hasilnye dapat juga merasa ber"spa" kat 5-star hotel..

ooo-em-geeee!!!

Seronok gila..

Thanks to hubby for the permission and willing to take care the 2 boys while mommy enjoying spa time..

I took Balinese massage, the most fastest and cheapest session they had..

Sayaaaa!!! How I wish I could get shape like during my anak dara time!*gigit jari*

To be truth I still have 2 kgs to be removed to get before pregnancy weight, and 5 more kgs to get weight before kawin. Seriously, to reduce 1 kg was like naik tangga pat puluh kali tak jugak turun, tapi bila dah belasah nasi sepinggan, senang plak timbang tu gerak. Paling tension, semua weigh machine kat office dah lah yg calibrate accredited lab *maklumlah I jaga calibration*, nak tak nak kena percaya jugak bila naik penimbang tu. Grrrr!!! And one more thing kalau dapat bali berat asal, tak pasti samada shape tu boleh balik macam dulu juga. Macam flabby semacam. Tensi!!!

But what ever it is, I really not plan for any diet program yet. I'm breastfeeding thus I need foods to get milk and energy. InsyaAllah lepas dah abis 2 years breastfeeding, Mr Hubby sila sign in ur wife into slimming centre.;) Wajib. How I wish I could have time to go for swimming. Or maybe going for aerobic class. Mana plak nak letak 2 hero tu. Banyak beno alasan itu yg tak kurus mommynadia oooiiii!!!

So far, I was satisfied with the service given. The therapist is very friendly, as well as the owner. Since I took the promotion package, tak boleh lah nak mintak tukar2 ape kan. Amik je lah apa yang diorang provide. *konon nak kena scrub dengan coffee bagai takde lah huhuhu* Cuma bila nak add on, sgt murah, as low as RM20. The spa was not so spacious, cuma satu tingkat je, so treatment room semua takde lah luas sgt. The rest shud be ok, worth with RM48 deal lah kan.

Maybe ada few things yang boleh di improve oleh owner. Such as, during treatment tu kalau boleh janganlah duk basuh ~~baju~~ kain kat belakang. Biasalah orang datang spa, nak relax2 kan, tapi bila dengar mesin basuh sakan berputar, tak dengar bunyi alunan muzik kat spa. Tapi so far, takde lah lama sgt I kena, just take note for other customer k. Plus, walaupun I jarang ber spa, takde lah jakun sgt. Biasa spa2 yang pernah dilawati, bau spa tu memang so relaxing *u know that smell kan*, mungkin dia lambat pasang lilin2 by the time I reached there. *awal sgt kut I datang hehehe ;)*

Organic Grain Rice for Baby Food...

Adryan dah masuk 9 bulan. Sekarang dah boleh makan bubur, yeay!!*walaupun gigi takde lagik, takpe, mommy blend halus2 k ;)* He started to take 3 times meals per day. 2 times at the daycare and dinner at home. Misi sebenar nak beli brown rice, alih tersinggah kedai organic kat Empire tu dan jumpe grain rice plak. Keturunan sama jgak sebenarnya. Lepas dah panjang lebar di explain oleh sales girl kat situ, terus grab small packet utk try.*maklumlah, bukan terrer sngt bab2 organic food ni*

5 grain rice..

Containt of organic millet, organic buckwheat, red rice, red mountain rice and brown rice...

*huh pening jgak nak memahami nama2 grain n wheat tu, sila belajar ya mommynadia!!*

Cara simpan, nak kena masuk fridge..

Sebab boleh berkulat kalau simpan kat luar..

Specially kalau humidity tinggi..

Cara masak rice ni, sama macam masak nasi biasa pun..

Cuma kena rendam dulu 2 jam sebelum masak * tak pasti kenapa nak kena rendam dulu, nape ek??*

So far, I cook for 1 week stock. Ada jugak yang I baca, diorang basuh dulu beras, to kemudian goreng kering. Once dah blend halus, boleh mix dgn puree je..Balance keep for 1 week stock. Good idea jgak..

Sementara tunggu bubur masak, sayur semua steam dulu..

Ingredient kat atas pumkin, sweet potatoes, brocolli and dates..

So far dah banyak kali tukar menu such carrot, avocado, dates..

or brocolli, celery, raisins and pumkins..

*Senang cite, letaklah apa saja yang kita suka, pun boleh, asalkan baby kita makan ;)*

Steam for 15-20 min..

And blend sampai fine texture..

Mixed with bubur dah masak tadi, biar sejuk...

Sebab ada unsur buckwheat and millet, texture lepas blend jadik macam oat yang di blend halus pun ada..

Dah sejuk, blend sekali lagik dengan bubur sebelum masuk dalam bekas utk dibekukan...

Ya, sgt senang dengan resepi suka hati mommy Ryan ni ;)

Yang pasti anak teruna saya makan dengan senang hati..

Happy holidays everyone!!

Mesti semua orang banyak aktiviti during long holiday ni kan. Ntah2 dah smp kampung pun. Kalau bukan CNY, time ni mesti I ler orang paling sibuk duk packing baju nak balik Terengganu, while hubby tengah kumpul energy nak drive malam. Biasanya kul 2am kami gerak, sampai kat Terengganu dah siang. Tapi sb CNY, maka kami duk Shah Alam je lah. Dah nama family 1Malaysia, kena lah sacrifice pergi CNY eve.*sronok tahun ni angpow double yeay!!* Hajat hati nk naik jambatan Pulau Pinang, mengenangkan jalan haruslah jam dengan lautan manusia, ku simpan hajat menjadi angan2 aje..;'(

Apapun, 4 days holidays ni haruslah tak disia-siakan. Selain diri ini dah sgt penat dengan daily routines, I really need a break. And the most important thing to spend time with my family. yeay!!

Fun & Movement at Kizsport & Gym, Empire

After a long delay, I'm finally received a call from Kizsport & Gym, Empire for trial of this program. Actually dah survey since last year, due to the renovations going on plus school break bla bla, last 2 week baru boleh pergi survey and decide samada nak enroll Adam for this program ke tak.

Description about this program..

I was looking for a fun program but at the same time Adam able to develop his ability in motor skills, cognitive (thinking), social skill and plus the emotional skill as well. As parents, we still seeing Adam as a small baby. But soon Adam will be joining the big group of people at school. So, me and Mr Hubby planned for a program that can build up his confident and self esteem too. Adam's body coordination was not very stable. Berlari mesti nak jatuh. Jalan pun tak betul je langkah. Really make us worry. Kalau pergi playland tu, hubby will follow him tak lepas langsung. Thats was my hubby jugak, tak boleh lepas dr depan mata langsung. Lagilah tak independant si Adam tu.

Before the program start, we talked to the trainer, teacher Fariza on what we expected from this prog and explained a lil bit about Adam. Yeap, we knew that every kid is unique. Even the growth also might differ from each kid. As parents, I don't like to compare Adam with other kids specially yang sebaya dengan dia. But we are trying our best to provide as much as he need for his development.

I was happy to see Adam enjoyed the time so much. In fact, he just need few minutes to get along with the trainer. The 50min program basicly content of many activities. We snapped the pictures while the program running. Since the program for 3-5 yo kid, parents are not allowed to enter the classroom. It was the 1st class of this program for this year and Adam's classmates were not coming yet, end up he was playing alone with the teacher. But its good for him jgak, boleh beramah mesra dulu kan..

After introduction session, just to warm up the kid, the trainer started the class by playing bubble...

And that was Adam fave game. Every weekend mesti ajak main bubble..

So far I was satisfied with this program. As long as Adam happy, thats more than enough already. We are more happier when the trainer said Adam's growth is normal. Just like other kids. He was good at jumping, catching and running. Just need time to improve to get it sharper. He's involved in those activities well, such during the reading time and the trainer said Adam like books so much. Adam loved to share story with the trainer too, but there are some pelat words that something teacher could not understand. Hoho, takpe sayang slow slow..

The program will be held every Sunday with monthly fees of RM180++ <---++ tu time deposit and annual fees aje. *meaning that mommy will get her weekly routine at Empire every Sunday. Sounds good eh!! I loike* The kid will automaticly registered as member, thus he is entitled for free entry to their playland. After class, we will give Adam to play at playland a little while.*yelah sgt a little while, kalau tak sejam dua tak sah!!* But this time, we just monitored him from far so that he will be more independant. Btw, anyone kebetulan pergi Kizsport on Sunday, boleh buat arrangment wit me, I can bring 4 more kids with membership fees, tak silap half price enterance fees to playland for kids above 2yo, and free for kids below 2yo. So jgn lupa caling2!! ;)

Adam will starts his trial for swimming class in March. By that time, we will decided whether to continue with this program or not. *mommy tak dan nak kejo kalau bnyk activities sgt on weekend* But if we manage to arrange well, InsyaAllah. Tapi kalau member2 Adam yg lain tak datang jgak, masalah jgak tu main sorang2. *this week class, still tak mucul jugak classmates Adam tu, haihhh!!*

So starting from 1st week of 2012, we officially changed our new routine on Sunday. We normally reached Empire very early for breakfast *mana tak awal kalau boleh dapat parking kat bawah straight masuk restaurant terus!!*, so far dah 2 weekends in the row makan kat Nyonya Colors, so in love with the kuih muih and nasi lemak daun pisang, and straight away to Kizsport for the class. Yehaaa!!

Owh btw, selain dari Kizsport & Gym kat Empire tu, banyak lagi aktiviti boleh buat sepanjang cuti hujung minggu kat Empire.

9 months old lil' Ryan ;)

Yes, my lil boy is 9 months old now, to be exact on new year 2012. Cepat nye masa berlalu. MasyaAllah. At 9 months, Ryan still not yet crawling, tapi kalau bagi menyusur, laju sampai ke dapur. Habis semua tempat larangan dia pergi. I thought with the walker I bought, memudahkan mommy dia untuk buat keje. I'm wrong. Bila dah ada walker senang lagi untuk Ryan bergerak ke semua tempat. His fave place is kitchen. I dunno lah nape baby memang suka sgt pergi main2 kat kitchen. Agaknye sebab mommy dia ada kat kitchen kut *cuba ulang 2 kali ayat tu, mommy Ryan selalu kat dapur, wuhahahah!!!* Bila kat dapur, bnyk plak urusan dia, habis ditarik semua plastik2 kat dalam bekas, adooiii pening betul. Kalau tak kacau mommy keje dia kacau Abang Adam. He is so cheecky boy. Suka sgt usik abang Adam. Ada je keje dia pergi tolak kepala lah, yang paling best dia suka himpit2 Abang Adam dengan walker dia yang gedabak penuh satu rumah tu. Mak aiii...Ryan Ryan..

There is no sign of white teeth so far. Syukur!!Dengan gusi tu pun, amboii bukan main dia duk genyeh2 nipp mommy dia. Sakit taw. And started this week, Ryan has started to eat rice in his daily meal. Prorridge actually. I chose organic grain and so far, Alhamdulillah ngap aje! *nanti I make review*

Compare to Adam, all the toys that I bought memang ikut umur dia. Different with Ryan, he enjoyed playing his bro's toy more than his. Risau betul lah, specially al the bob and the builder stuff, screw and everythings. Really need to do childproofing to the max!!Dah lah hobby dia melepak bilik Abang Adam, semua bekas2 mainan dia suka tarik.

My Michelin baby dah 10.5kg. Nak gelak bila weighing time check up, jarum timbang siap pusing sambung kat zero balik. hehehe. As he will be staying with the same nursery for the next few years, *plan nak tukar tak jadi, pikirkan banyak lagi consequences nye* so we took precautions by providing few extra vaccinations. So far, he already took flu vaccination 1st dose and next dose by next month. InsyaAllah, after 1 year, will send him for pneumoccocal vaccine as well. Same like his bro.

Kebetulan 1st Jan aritu, we all jalan2 kat Empire. Adam dah lama nak main kiddie rides. So we make a move to Empire with many coins in the pocket. Had dinner at Kenny Rogers and straight away to kiddie rides smp tutup Empire tu. The 2 boys really enjoyed the nite.

Just read entry from Jie's blog. Quite intresting entry on financial management. Since, 2012 resolutions banyak bersangkut paut pasal saving, expenses and budget control, this system is really good to be applied. But through enough, duit boleh mengalir lagik laju daripada air. Kalau kita tak manage betul2, memang sampai sudahlah tak buat saving gamaknye. Tapi, as my director said this morning, saving banyak2 pun, sampai control semua nye, tak elok jugak. Bukan boleh buat mati pun duit tuh. So, berpada2. Plan some for saving, manage neccesities properly and wisely plan for desire thingy. But, what ever it is, I'm still thinking of side income to generate. *Keep on thinking my future bussiness plan hahahahaha!!*

Anyway, have your time to read. Mana yang sesuai boleh dipakai, yang perlu adjust kita adjust sesuai dengan keadaan kita, kn??

During the 1st Millionaire Mind Intensive seminar in Singapore, Harv Eker introduced to people from all over Asia about the world’s simplest, easiest and most effective money management system.

Harv suggested that everyone can use the JARS system to better manage one’s money. The key between rich and poor or middle class people is their ability to manage their money. Rich people are excellent money managers and poor or middle class people are less-savvy when it comes to managing their money. And of course, there are many other distinctions that set the rich, poor and middle class people apart. I will go into that on my later blog post as I intend to discuss more about the JARS money management system in this post.

The most important part of money managing is separating your income into different accounts for specific purposes. I will outline the various accounts for the JARS system as well as their % breakdown of how one should divide their money to manage below:

Financial Freedom Account (FFA) = 10%
Long Term Savings For Spending (LTSS) = 10%
Education (EDUC) = 10%
Necessities (NEC) =55%
Play = 10%
Give = 5%

Anyone can start using this JARS method of managing their money even though if you think you do not have a lot of money to manage. The key is to develop a habit of managing your money, but not how much money you have available for you to manage. One must get into the habit of managing their own money, and you can start with as low as $1 to begin using this system.

Here are how the JARS system works:

Financial Freedom Account (10%):

Put 10% into your FFA whenever you receive money, such as your salary. You must NEVER, NEVER spend the money that you put inside your FFA account. Any money inside the FFA account can only be used to purchase or acquire passive income streams to grow your money. You may spend the interest acquired from the FFA if you choose to, although it is recommended that you do not. Keep the interest inside the FFA to grow your capital and interest faster. Think of your FFA as the golden mother goose that lays you golden eggs, if you spend the money inside the FFA, it is akin to killing your mother goose that will bring you golden eggs (your riches). Instead, keep the baby geese (FFA’s interest) that the mother goose is giving you, and you can grow more baby geese (your wealth) even faster. As you may already get it, the idea is to create a golden goose! You may prefer to think of the FFA as a legacy that you can leave behind for your future generations. Long Term Savings For Spending (10%):

Put 10% into your LTSS whenever you receive money, such as your salary. The money inside LTSS can be used for major expenditure such as savings for your children’s education, buying a house for yourself, keeping aside contingency funds.

Education (10%):

Put 10% into your EDUC whenever you receive money, such as your salary. You can use the EDUC funds for your self-education, for examples, books, seminars and events etc. Everyone needs to learn, especially in this changing world. Grow your comfort zone through learning and doing. If you are not growing, you are dying!

Necessities (55%):

Put 55% into your NEC whenever you receive money, such as your salary. You should use the funds inside your Necessities account to settle all your essential bills such as phone bills, electricity, clothings, eating, driving, travelling, hair etc. If you cannot survive on 55%, simplify your lifestyle. Instead of driving a car, perhaps you can take public transport, or drive a Honda instead of a BMW. Buy Converse jeans instead of Armani. There are people who cannot live on 55% NEC when they started the JARS system but over time, these same group of people are able to simplify their lives and live on 50% or lesser!

When your usual needs for instant gratification kicks in, think this: “Wealthy people think Long term. Poor people think Short term.”

Play (10%):

Put 10% into your Play account whenever you receive money, such as your salary. You are supposed to spend this money every month to pamper yourself. The key is to BLOW this Play money away every month so that you will feel good about having money and spending it! You should feel guilt-free when you spend this money every single month. Maybe you go for massages once every month, now you can use this money to really pamper yourself by going twice, thrice or as much as you want. Or you can try ordering champagne during dinner at a restaurant if you do not usually do. Or buy yourself a new gadget. Anything outrageous that you can do to pamper yourself and makes you feel really good. You are recommended to BLOW this money every month. However, if you need to save up for things such as short trips getaways that require a little more money, you can accumulate them up to a few months, say a quarter, before you use them.

Give (5%):

Put 5% into your Give account whenever you receive money, such as your salary. You can use the money for donations to charities, use it to help someone in need. Giving is important. If you choose to give 10%, take the extra 5% from your NEC and change the % allocated for NEC from 55% to 50%.

In my opinion, this is really a great Money Management System as it covers most aspects, if not all, on how one usually spend their money. It is so amazing simple, yet profound, method of better managing your money, regardless of how much money you already have! It can work for people who never save their $, or for people who needs to give to feel a sense of contribution to others/society, for those that need to learn and grow through learning, for anyone who just needs a little more help in managing their money.

My 2012 Resolutions!!

Dah 3 hari masuk 2012, tapi arini baru sempat nak save my 2012 resolutions. Walaupun dah set target for this year, kena ada black and white, by end of the year, boleh bukak and check yg mane tak achieve and worst thing kalau ada yg tak gerak langsung, boleh bring forward ke following year. Nampak sgt bnyk benda yg memang sukar dicapai..;(

Alhamdulillah, 2011 was a very beautiful year to me. Tho I did not targetted many major things last year, syukur I've managed to settle many things. And I'm proud of myself..huhuhu riak tak baik taww!! Reading back my 2011 resolutions, most of the things was about my baby and how me n Mr Hubby gonna arrange our daily life managing the growing up boys. Macam susah sgt je nak imagine sebelum tu, but syukur, tho it quite tough in the beginning, we managed to face it well. Tup tup, 1st Jan aritu Ryan dah masuk 9 bulan. How time flies..

Dah berjaya mengenggam segulung ijazah.

And most of the achievable things which was a big relief for us is..

..managed to settle re-financing of our house..

Such a big burden with previous bank, dah lah bnyk songeh grrr, n intrest tinggi pd bank lain plak tu...

And with that, we managed to save at around 20% from current payment..phewww!!

Further, we had re-structured our monthly expenses too, so that we can spend more on the valuable thing..

And settled all insurance thingy for the kids as well..

I did not enrolled Adam for new kinddy this year, after perbincangan menemui jalan buntu.We still cannot find a good kinddy at our area. In fact the last minute kinddy-hunting, was not a good thing we had .Instead, I just enrolled him to the current kinddy so that he will not just waste time playing for the whole day.Ada kelas Iqra' skali.I won't expected much from my 4yo boy. Just giving him chance to explore and build up his self esteem and most important thing is he able to inteprate instructions well. So one of my plans is to enroll him into a swimming class.

Just bought 4 session thru groupon before fully enroll him for a swimming class..

Trial dulu..

and had done booking for trial session at kizsport for Fun n Movement Program too..

Hopefully, with these classes, Adam will build up his self esteem/confident and ready for school next year..

On cloth diapering my lil' Ryan..

I really take a long gap to update story on my cloth diapering journey. Pheww!!Hopefully this time, I'm able to publish the entry. My 1st entry was during confinement period, here. Maybe it was not a good and happy story to tell, telling on how I managed the poo poo, huhuhu it was not a pleasant story to be shared actually. Before that, please dont get offended with my entry. I'm just sharing experiences that I went through and just my 2 cents!!

Dont get me wrong! I'm not regretted on decision to cloth diapering my lil child. In fact, to be honest, I 've saved a lot on diapers for our monthly expenses. If last time, Adam needed to mix the blue and purple Huggies, Ryan on the other hand can enjoy the comfortness of Huggies Ultra as I just need 1 packet for 1 month usage. Owh yeap, I'm not fully cloth diapering my baby yet. 1 thing because of the stock of cds that I have now and plus, I preferred to put him on plastic diaper at night, kalau tak mahu tido mommy tak lena! I just used 1 diaper at night and during travelling or outing. So I can be considered as half cd'ing kut ;) But its all up to us, even if u just use cd once a day, at least u have save 1 diaper and help to save the environment too. *Ehem ehem macam duta green peace plak ;)*

The day I decided to cloth diapering my no2, it was actually after a long discussion with Mr Hubby. It really because we try to cut down on the expenses. *gaji naik tak seberapa mane kan ;(* Meaning that, I really have to decided on the right cd to invest, tak nak nanti beli tak elok, banyak plak nak kena beli. Besides, I have to consider the daycare too, bukan semua caregiver nak layan cd cd ni. Lucky that I have the nursery which accepted cd.*sebab rasenye Ryan je pun yang ber"cd" bagai* So, my journey to find the good cd began as early as my early pregnancy. And finally decided on GroVia, All-in-2 for nursery and for travelling which more comfy is All-in-1. Reason I decided on Grovia, tho the price a lil bit expensive to compare with other brand and type, its because of the shell (outer) which can be used 2-3 times with different soaker (inner). Meaning that, for nursery, I just need 3 shells and 5 soaker for 10 hours usage. And so far after about 6 months on this, I really loved the trimness of the diapers.

3rd time bought during started working after maternity leave..

There come the toughest part! Handling the soiled diapers specially when there are poo poo inside. Yurk!!!And I was given privilege to handle that part. Yes, me only, no one else. Hate it. Buat si Ryan active duk poo poo smp 2 kali, maka jenuh lah duk menyembur balik keje tu. Naik pening jugak tau mengadap poo poo baby ni, specially Ryan has started on solids now. huhuhu. But the rest, lucky I have a good helper, Mr Hubby who will help to put the diapers on washing machine and hang it when they are done. *While mommy duk bz sental botol kat dapur ;)* Thats what I always said, if u dont hv maid to help u on this, u better need to have green light from ur hubby, as to handle this alone, with other things to do, it wont an easy job.

InsyaAllah, even I had to face many challenges on cloth diapering my lil boy, I will continue this journey till end. *sampai Ryan diaper free la maksud I ;)* Never turn back, InsyaAllah. But yet, I have to set my mind and be focus, trying as much not to leisure my money on fancy cd. hahahaha!! Yes, I tell u, once u are in cd world, u might be easily attracted and distracted with many pattern and designs, and sgt mahal woo!! If you see, semua stock cd I mmg plain. B'cos I normally grabbed the cd during sales and not so many designs offered. I'm ok with that. In fact, I will only top up my cds everytime sales come. *Memang sgt alert bila tiny tapir or fabulous mom buat sales, as u can easily get up to 20% discounts on GroVia, it saved me alot!!*

As of now, I'm proud to say that I'm cloth diapering my lil baby. Its not an easy one specially if you're a working mom, minus maid!! *Hi-5 Mr hubby!!*

Knowing how to freeze baby food safely makes it possible to prepare and store entire batches of homemade food for your baby - a real boon for busy parents.

How to freeze baby food - the basics??

There are several methods of freezing baby food - all of which work equally well - but which may occupy varying amounts of freezer space.

With all methods...

...You should prepare your homemade baby food, then cool it as quickly as possible to prevent the growth of bacteria. Any food left sitting at room temperature for more than two hours is not safe for your baby to eat and should be discarded.

To cool prepared baby food quickly, try spreading it in a shallow container - you can even sit the container in a pan of cold water, which really helps speed up the process. More information to help you prepare baby food safely and avoid the growth of food-borne bacteria

How To Freeze Baby Food - Method 1

Thoroughly clean a regular ice-cube tray and spoon your prepared baby food into each section. A lidded tray is ideal, as it protects the food from freezer burn or from picking up any other odours from the freezer. If you don't have a lidded tray, you can cover the tray with food-safe plastic wrap. Some people use foil, although we don't recommend it as you can find that some pieces of foil remain in the food!

Place the ice-cube tray into the freezer and - once the cubes are firm - press them out and place them into zip-top bags, which take up less space in your freezer.

This gives you perfectly sized little portions of baby food - usually around an ounce or so. One cube per meal may be enough for your child at first, but as he grows you may wish to place two cubes in each zip-top bag.

You can also make lots of different baby food flavours by mixing and matching different fruit and veggie cubes - combining a cube of pureed apple with a cube of pureed carrot, for example - yum!

ARE PLASTIC ICE CUBE TRAYS SAFE FOR FREEZING BABY FOOD?

There have been lots of concerns recently about freezing or heating baby food in plastic containers, because of the possibility of chemicals migrating from the plastics and into baby's foods.

Some ice cube trays are specifically designed for baby food (see below) and are free of these potentially harmful chemicals - but if you want to use a regular ice cube tray, then you might like to try a silicone tray, or even one made from stainless steel (the Tickle Trunk stocks one here).

How To Freeze Baby Food - Method 2

This is similar to method 1, because it involves freezing baby food then transferring it to zip-top bags - but instead of using ice cube trays, you can use silicone mini-muffin pans! Their flexibility makes it easy to pop out the food portions - plus, of course, their use goes beyond the storage of baby food when your little one is older!

How To Freeze Baby Food - Method 3

If you don't have any appropriately sized containers for freezing baby food, then you can use the baking sheet/cookie sheet method (although you'll need a little more freezer space initially).

Just spoon your prepared baby food on to a baking sheet to form little mounds (although please note that this won't work as well if your purees are very runny). Cover the entire baking sheet with food safe wrap (or loosely cover with foil), freeze until firm, then transfer the portions of food to a zip-top bag as before.

How To Freeze Baby Food - Method 4

Another good way to freeze homemade baby food is by spooning it into freezer-safe jars and transferring the jars directly to the freezer.

Please note, though, that you should never freeze baby food in glass jars unless the manufacturers of the jars specifically state that it is safe to do so.

Jars that are safe to use in the freezer should clearly say so on the packaging - other jars (including commercial baby food jars) are usually not strong enough to withstand the expansion of the food that occurs during the freezing process.

This means that the jar may break or - worse - may experience tiny hairline cracks, which you may not be able to see, but which will deposit tiny shards of glass in your baby's food. Many parents like to use Ball Quilted Jelly Canning Jars , which are designed for use in the freezer.

How To Freeze Baby Food - Method 5

Probably the most popular method of freezing homemade baby food is to use 'purpose built' baby food freezer trays or pots - and boy, are there a lot to choose from!

Manufacturers, recognizing the growing trend for parents choosing to make their own baby food rather than relying on commercially prepared alternatives, have come up with a whole range of products designed to make life easier! What's more, these products are free from the potentially harmful chemicals that some plastic trays may contain.

How to freeze baby food - keeping track of what you've made.

Labeling your homemade baby food as you freeze it is VERY important.

Making a note of the date will allow you to rotate your baby food 'stockpile' - in other words, you can check that you're using older batches of food before new ones. It will also help you ensure that you use your food within an acceptable time frame (see below for more information).

Equally as important as dating the food is making a note of what's in the container - baby food purees tend to look very similar to each other once frozen!

If you discover that your baby is allergic to a certain food - or if a particular food seems to trigger any type of digestive upset - then having the ability to go through your frozen food supply and identify then remove any 'offending' portions is crucial.

The method you use to label your food depends on the method you chose to freeze it. Some 'purpose built' baby food containers come with a writeable surface, whereas others may require you to affix your own label.

If you've chosen to freeze your baby food in zip-top bags, use the ones designed for the freezer, which usually have a surface you can write on.

HOW LONG CAN I STORE BABY FOOD IN THE FREEZER?

If your freezer is operating efficiently, most types of baby food will be good for up to 3 months.

That being said, we recommend trying to use your baby food within 1 month, before the taste of the food and its nutritional value may begin to decline.

To ensure the best quality of your frozen baby food, place it in the COLDEST part of the freezer - this tends to be the top shelf in upright freezers and the bottom section of chest freezers.

How to freeze baby food - which foods can I freeze?

In our experience, most types of baby food - particularly purees - freeze very well. You may sometimes need to experiment with texture, because the very process of freezing causes any water in the food to expand, breaking down cell walls. This is particularly noticeable when you freeze whole foods - a frozen banana, for example, will be very mushy when thawed - but is less of a problem when freezing prepared purees and meals.

Here are some tips we think you'll find helpful...

Don't thin your purees before you freeze them. Given the fact that many foods become more watery on thawing (particularly fruits and veggies), adding extra liquid before freezing them may leave you with food that's so runny your baby will need a straw to eat it!
Herbs and spices tend to lose their flavour in the freezer. If a baby food recipe calls for them, add them after the food is thawed, just before heating it.
Baked foods - like homemade nuggets or fish fingers - are best frozen at the point where they are ready for the oven, but before they are cooked. This is because the texture of the food (the crispiness of a nugget, for example) may be negatively affected by freezing then thawing.
If you like to make your own yogurt, then it IS possible to freeze it for your baby, but do be aware that it might be watery on thawing. Sometimes, a good stir is all that's needed to fix the problem - but on occasion we've found the resulting yogurt too runny to eat with a spoon and we've used it for smoothies instead! We'd recommend making homemade yogurt as and when needed, if possible.
We've always had good results with freezing homemade rice cereal and oatmeal - in fact, being able to do so is a real boon when your mornings are as busy as ours! As we mentioned earlier, though, don't make them too thin before you freeze them.
Many fruits - particularly banana and avocado, and even apples and pears - can look quite brown when frozen and thawed. This discolouration is a natural result of the fruit's exposure to air and is harmless, but if it bothers you, you can usually solve the problem by mixing a little lemon juice into the food before freezing it. Please note, however, that citrus sometimes triggers reactions in babies, in which case you may want to leave it out and accept a little discolouration!
It is perfectly acceptable to freeze cooked rice, as long as it is cooled quickly beforehand.
If your baby food contains cooked pasta - particularly if it's a textured dish, where the pasta pieces are quite large - then we recommend slightly undercooking the pasta. Thawed pasta can be really mushy - but by undercooking it, you are allowing it to absorb the extra liquid produced during the freezing process without turning it into a mushy mess!
If you like to make your own stock/broth, then it's handy to prepare a big batch all in one go and freeze it. Try freezing it in ice cube trays or the baby food trays shown above - then you'll have perfectly sized little portions of stock to use as needed.
If your baby food has been affected by 'freezer burn', it may have tough, discoloured patches. These are caused by the food becoming dehydrated and by exposure to air - and it usually occurs when the food isn't properly sealed or wrapped. Fortunately, though, the safety of the food is not affected - simply allow it to thaw, then cut or spoon away the affected area.

How to thaw baby food

The safest and easiest way to thaw your baby's food is to select all the frozen cubes you'll need for the next day, then put them in the fridge overnight. Frozen cubes of baby food take between 8 to 12 hours to thaw in most refrigerators.

It's a good idea to mark the food with the time at which you took it from the freezer - we then recommend that you use up the food within 24 hours if it contains meat, poultry or fish - or within 48 hours for other types of food.

Seriously, it worth for every cent invested. Bergantung pada individu sebenarnya, tak perlu gadget2 macam ni pun boleh prepare homemade food kan??Tapi ntah, banyak sgt rintangan ni, mudah nk give up nanti. *Hohoho. At first ingatkan nak buat review pasal Avent Combined Steamer and Blender, skali lah dengan entry weaning Ryan at 8months old. So far, after almost 1 month using it, memang mudah. Daripada segi nak handle and nak cuci, simple je. Main part yang perlu di cuci pun sikit. Maksudnya, stakat nak buat few type of meals, at 1 session tu, boleh sgt. Lepas blend, cuci and lap, ready to steam for next meal.

Ryan dah 8 bulan. Sekarang ni, selain daripada 15-18 oz milk, I brought 2 portions meals to his nursery, breakfast and lunch. For his lunch or dinner, *still bagi 2 times meals daily*, biasanye bila time prepare stock homemade foods, I make 5-6 portions of 2 different meals. Still sweet potatoes as source of carbo, I mix with pumpkins and brocolli atau pun with carrots. Plus dates as another energy booster ;)

Bila dah ada gadget macam ni, rajin lah sket nak reka2 makanan for Ryan. InsyaAllah, when he reach 9 mos, I will start to introduce brown rice for him. Started to read info about brown rice and easy way to cook rice for babies too. Tak sabar nak cuba. Tak tahulah, this time selain semangat nk buat homemade baby food, myself pun intrested to introduce organic foods. Many suggest not to use instant oat, will try for next packet. Plus, dah start tgk new recipe for couscous too...hehehe bestbest!!

Lovely hotel, delicious foods, comfortable bed...its a five start hotel!! Yeay, we're on holidays!!!

*rewind tape sound* I'm daydreaming!!! ;(

Instead we are at studio room, with 1 single bed sharing and 5 star hotel foods so called..so sad we were stranded at hospital!! Pity right ;(

Its a long weekend holidays for those who's working in Selangor's state. Monday off for Sultan Selangor Birthday, plus with school hol ramai yg plan for holidays kan?? Lucky we did not set plan for vacations. Just to have a great lepaking at home and window shopping, while having good foods and a spring cleaning...arggghhh harapan tinggal harapan. My lil boy fall sicks again. Started on Wednesday morning, suddenly the temperature increased, followed with a weird sounds of coughing. Bring to nearest clinic, doc claimed a usual fever and cough, instead, the mean mommy still send this chubby lil boy to nursery. The next day, the coughing sounds still there, I gave him a 1-day-break-at-home, and Friday morning we straight away sent to nearest hospital. Its a viral infection at voice cord known as croup viral which caused a barking sounds of coughing. Kesian, serak suara Ryan. The doc directly informed us that Ryan need to be admitted, to have a closely monitoring from a specialist. He also need to get frequent neb. Rather than tension at home, ubat pun bagi tak on time nanti, we agreed to admit him. Adryan has been monitored by paed Dr Fadzillah. Its a stress released also to get admitted actually, proper medications and good temperature monitoring, so we don't have to worry much about his conditions.

But still, I was totally exhausted!! That's the cons that I have to face when the boys were sent to nursery. I did not totally blamed the nursery, it could be me yg tgh batuk jugak last week, but yet with the increase of babies at nursery, really make me pissed off!!! Hey, jgn lah pikir pasal bussiness aje, amik selagi muat, with less helper to take care of the babies, of course the diseases easily get spread. When I started send Ryan to the nursery, there were only few babies, 2-3 kut. And now, everyday I can see new faces of parents!! Diorang tak pergi tgk ke kat atas tu, main campak asal boleh!!! And to be truth, as I decided to enroll Adam for the 4yo kinddy, I might survey a new place for lil Ryan too. Pity my chubby boy ;( But not sure whether sempat lagi tak, as the school with start in few more weeks!! Grrrrr!!!

Alhamdulillah, Ryan has showed a sign of recovery and will be discharged this evening. The paed strictly reminded us to avoid him from nursery for few more days!!!Just to ensure a total recovery. Owh no no. How I wished I'm not a working mom right now. I should plan for something. As we have a few more weeks to 2012, its really good time for me to come out with some new plan!!!*A new career path might be*

But after all, I'm super tired. I need a breaaaaakkkkkk!!!! *I might sound like a lousy mother right now, it could be from my unstable condition..wuhahahahaha!!!*

Croup

Viral croup; Laryngotracheobronchitis - acute; Spasmodic croup

Croup is breathing difficulty accompanied by a "barking" cough. Croup, which is swelling around the vocal cords, is common in infants and children and can have a variety of causes.

Causes, incidence, and risk factors

Viral croup is the most common. Other possible causes include bacteria, allergies, and inhaled irritants. Acid reflux from the stomach can trigger croup.

Croup is usually (75% of the time) caused by parainfluenza viruses, but RSV, measles, adenovirus, and influenza can all cause croup.

Before the era of immunizations and antibiotics, croup was a dreaded and deadly disease, usually caused by the diphtheria bacteria. Today, most cases of croup are mild. Nevertheless, it can still be dangerous.

Croup tends to appear in children between 3 months and 5 years old, but it can happen at any age. Some children are prone to croup and may get it several times.

In the northern hemisphere, it is most common between October and March, but can occur at any time of the year.

In severe cases of croup, there may also be a bacterial superinfection of the upper airway. This condition is called bacterial tracheitis and requires hospitalization and intravenous antibiotics. If the epiglottis becomes infected, the entire windpipe can swell shut, a potentially fatal condition called epiglottitis.

Symptoms

Croup features a cough that sounds like a seal barking. Most children have what appears to be a mild cold for several days before the barking cough becomes evident. As the cough gets more frequent, the child may have labored breathing or stridor (a harsh, crowing noise made during inspiration).

Croup is typically much worse at night. It often lasts 5 or 6 nights, but the first night or two are usually the most severe. Rarely, croup can last for weeks. Croup that lasts longer than a week or recurs frequently should be discussed with your doctor to determine the cause.

Signs and tests

Children with croup are usually diagnosed based on the parent's description of the symptoms and a physical exam. Sometimes a doctor will even identify croup by listening to a child cough over the phone. Occasionally other studies, such as x-rays, are needed.

A physical examination may show chest retractions with breathing. Listening to the chest through a stethoscope may reveal prolonged inspiration or expiration, wheezing, and decreased breath sounds.

An examination of the throat may reveal a red epiglottis. A neck x-ray may reveal a foreign object or narrowing of the trachea.

Treatment

Most cases of croup can be safely managed at home, but call your health care provider for guidance, even in the middle of the night.

Cool or moist air might bring relief. You might first try bringing the child into a steamy bathroom or outside into the cool night air. If you have a cool air vaporizer, set it up in the child's bedroom and use it for the next few nights.

Acetaminophen can make the child more comfortable and lower a fever, lessening his or her breathing needs. Avoid cough medicines unless you discuss them with your doctor first.

You may want your child to be seen. Steroid medicines can be very effective at promptly relieving the symptoms of croup. Medicated aerosol treatments, if necessary, are also powerful.

Serious illness requires hospitalization. Increasing or persistent breathing difficulty, fatigue, bluish coloration of the skin, or dehydrationindicates the need for medical attention or hospitalization.

Medications are used to help reduce upper airway swelling. This may include aerosolized racemic epinephrine, corticosteroids taken by mouth, such as dexamethasone and prednisone, and inhaled or injected forms of other corticosteroids. Oxygen and humidity may be provided in an oxygen tent placed over a crib. A bacterial infection requires antibiotic therapy.

Increasing obstruction of the airway requires intubation (placing a tube through the nose or mouth through the larynx into the main air passage to the lungs). Intravenous fluids are given for dehydration. In some cases, corticosteroids are prescribed.

Expectations (prognosis)

Viral croup usually goes away in 3 to 7 days. The outlook for bacterial croup is good with prompt treatment.

If an airway obstruction is not treated promptly, respiratory distress (severe difficulty breathing) and respiratory arrest can occur.

Complications

· Respiratory distress

· Respiratory arrest

· Epiglottitis

· Bacterial tracheitis

· Atelectasis (collapse of part of the lung)

· Dehydration

Calling your health care provider

Most croup can be safely managed at home with telephone support from your health care provider. Call 911 if:

· The croup is possibly being caused by an insect sting or inhaled object

· The child has bluish lips or skin color

· The child is drooling

· The child is having trouble swallowing

Depending on the severity of the symptoms, call 911 or your health care provider for any of the following:

· Stridor (noise when breathing in)

· Retractions (tugging-in between the ribs when breathing in)

· Struggling to breathe

· Agitation or extreme irritability

· Not responding to home treatment

Do NOT wait until morning to address the problem.

Prevention

Wash your hands frequently and avoid close contact with those who have a respiratory infection.

The diphtheria, Haemophilus influenzae (Hib), and measles vaccines protect children from some of the most dangerous forms of croup.

Ten Ways to Build Child's Self-Esteem

Nurturing your preschooler's self-esteem may seem like a hefty responsibility. After all, a feeling of self-worth lays the foundation for your preschooler's future as he sets out to try new things on his own. "Self-esteem comes from having a sense of belonging, believing that we're capable, and knowing our contributions are valued and worthwhile," says California family therapist Jane Nelsen, co-author of the Positive Discipline series.

"As any parent knows, self-esteem is a fleeting experience," says Nelsen. "Sometimes we feel good about ourselves and sometimes we don't. What we're really trying to teach our kids are life skills like resiliency." Your goal as a person is to ensure that your child develops pride and self-respect — in himself and in his cultural roots — as well as faith in his ability to handle life's challenges (for a preschooler that may mean copying capital letters accurately). Here are ten simple strategies to help boost your child's self-esteem:

Give unconditional love. A child's self-esteem flourishes with the kind of no-strings-attached devotion that says, "I love you, no matter who you are or what you do." Your child benefits the most when you accept him for who he is regardless of his strengths, difficulties, temperament, or abilities. So lavish him with love. Give him plenty of cuddles, kisses, and pats on the shoulder. And don't forget to tell him how much you love him. When you do have to correct your child, make it clear that it's his behavior — not him — that's unacceptable. For instance, instead of saying, "You're a naughty boy! Why can't you be good?" say, "Pushing Gabriel isn't nice. It can hurt. Please don't push."

Pay attention. Carve out time to give your preschooler your undivided attention. That does wonders for your child's self-worth because it sends the message that you think he's important and valuable. It doesn't have to take a lot of time; it just means taking a moment to stop flicking through the mail if he's trying to talk with you or turning off the TV long enough to answer a question. Make eye contact so it's clear that you're really listening to what he's saying. When you're strapped for time, let your child know it without ignoring his needs. Say, "Tell me all about the picture you drew, and then when you're finished, I'll need to make our dinner."

Teach limits. Establish a few reasonable rules for your preschooler. For instance, if you tell your child he has to eat his snack in the kitchen, don't let him wander around the family room with his crackers and fruit the next day. Or if you tell him to put his dirty clothes in the laundry basket, don't say it's okay to pile them on the floor. Knowing that certain family rules are set in stone will help him feel more secure. It may take constant repetition on your part, but he'll start to live by your expectations soon enough. Just be clear and consistent and show him that you trust him to do the right thing.

Support healthy risks. Encourage your child to explore something new, such as trying a different food, finding a best pal, or riding a bike. Though there's always the possibility of failure, without risk there's little opportunity for success. So let your child safely experiment, and resist the urge to intervene. For instance, try not to "rescue" him if he's showing mild frustration at figuring out a new toy. Even jumping in to say, "I'll do it" can foster dependence and diminish your child's confidence. You'll build his self-esteem by balancing your need to protect him with his need to tackle new tasks.

Let mistakes happen. The flip side, of course, of having choices and taking risks is that sometimes your child is bound to make mistakes. These are valuable lessons for your child's confidence. So if your child puts his plate too close to the edge of the table and it tips, encourage him to think about what he might do differently next time. That way his self-esteem won't sag and he'll understand that it's okay to make mistakes sometimes. When you goof up yourself, admit it, says Daniel Meier, assistant professor of elementary education at San Francisco State University. Acknowledging and recovering from your mistakes sends a powerful message to your child — it makes it easier for your child to accept his own shortcomings.

Celebrate the positive. Everyone responds well to encouragement, so make an effort to acknowledge the good things your child does every day within his earshot. For instance, tell his dad, "Joshua washed all the vegetables for dinner." He'll get to bask in the glow of your praise and his dad's heartening response. And be specific. Instead of saying "Good job," say, "Thank you for waiting so patiently in line." This will enhance his sense of accomplishment and self-worth and let him know exactly what he did right.

Listen well. If your child needs to talk, stop and listen to what he has to say. He needs to know that his thoughts, feelings, desires, and opinions matter. Help him get comfortable with his emotions by labeling them. Say, "I understand you're sad because you have to say bye to your school pals." By accepting his emotions without judgment, you validate his feelings and show that you value what he has to say. If you share your own feelings ("I'm excited about going to the zoo"), he'll gain confidence expressing his own.

Resist comparisons. Comments such as "Why can't you be more like your sister?" or "Why can't you be nice like Peter?" will just remind your child of where he struggles in a way that fosters shame, envy, and competition. Even positive comparisons, such as "You're the best player" are potentially damaging because a child can find it hard to live up to this image. If you let your child know you appreciate him for the unique individual he is, he'll be more likely to value himself too.

Offer empathy. If your child compares himself unfavorably to his siblings or peers ("Why can't I catch a ball like Sophia?"), show him empathy and then emphasize one of his strengths. For instance, say, "You're right. Sophia is good at catching. And you're good at painting pictures." This can help your child learn that we all have strengths and weaknesses, and that he doesn't have to be perfect to feel good about himself.

Provide encouragement. Every child needs the kind of support from loved ones that signals, "I believe in you. I see your effort. Keep going!" Encouragement means acknowledging progress — not just rewarding achievement. So if your preschooler is struggling to fasten his snaps, say, "You're trying very hard and you almost have it!" instead of "Not like that. Let me do it."

There's a difference between praise and encouragement. One rewards the task while the other rewards the person ("You did it!" rather than "I'm proud of you!"). Praise can make a child feel that he's only "good" if he does something perfectly. Encouragement, on the other hand, acknowledges the effort. "Tell me about your drawing. I see that you like purple" is more helpful than saying, "That's the most beautiful picture I've ever seen." Too much praise can sap self-esteem because it can create pressure to perform and set up a continual need for approval from others. So dole out the praise judiciously and offer encouragement liberally; it will your child grow up to feel good about himself.

The Barney's Space Adventures - Live Musical in KL

Hi everyone..

Still remember my last entry about Barney's musical show in KL Convention Centre last month?? Read here!! The day I knew there will be Barney's live musical performance in KL, mak dah tak senang duduk. Tiket dia, memang buat diri ini keluh kesah. Lucky the contest for free ticket that I've joined, able myslf to get 20% discount.*hip hip hooray, save tuuu..tak menang pun takpe la, takdo rejeki* When I browsed the ticketing system, Saturday show banyak dah full, so I decided to buy on Friday evening's show. After discussed with Mr Hubby *termasuk tambah tolak darab bahagi*, we decided to purchase only 2 tickets. Bazir lah beli for Ryan yang tak tahu pape lagi tu kan. And since Mr Hubby adalah penghafal lagu Barney yang berjaya, mommy redha dua beranak tu pergi, kira daddy's day out ler ;)

We got the ticket 1 week earlier *fuuhhh lega* and both of them were counting days to see the Barney's alive *mak bapak lagi excited hokehh, mahu tak tiket boleh pergi F1..pitam!!* Day before the show, hubby told me that he need to attend meeting at Tg Malim on Friday evening. And he wanted me to bring Adam to the show. "Ala sian nye Bie, mesti frust tak dapat pergi kan?? Itu namanye ayat propa mommy..wuahahahaha!!! *mommy dalam hati, yes yes..boleh pergi tgk Barney show, ye ye!! hula hoop ;)*

So, on Friday evening, mommy buat muka kesian kat Lady B, mintak balik awal, at 4.30 pm. Fetch Adam at nursery, muah muah Ryan sket, terus vrooom vrooom ke KL Convention Centre. Lucky we managed to reach 30min before the show begin.

Hish dapat tgk Barney pun masam lagik??

Ntah la, muka eksited campur ala2 tak caya gitu..

To be honest, this was my first time pergi live show for children..*pernah pergi musical on ice time bujang dulu, not counted* Seriously, it was fun. The best part, semua mommies even some daddies pun, hafal u lagu Barney, siap bangun joget2 skali.Sangat sweet and sporting!How I wish Mr Hubby was there too..sob sob!!

I would say the 90 minutes performance with a break in between was an enjoyable show. Despite of the musical performance, this educational show bring to life the imaginative story which bring the kids to the other world. *Kalau budak dah besar sket lebih faham kut storyline dia* But for Adam's age, he enjoyed the songs more while seeing his fave Barney and friends on stage. Best things, banyak lagu yang selalu Adam tengok pun ada. Happy lah dia! =)

Alamak, sepatutnye cite bermula with , last weekend...tapi nak buat macamane, tak sempat nk post entry last week, dah jadik 2 weeks ago..adehhh ;(

Bersambung drp entry invitation to Raees Aryan's birthday bash, since Nuurill, Thara and myself have been invited to Irin's place, so we had planned to visit the newborn baby of mummy Anne at Kelana Jaya after the birthday bash. Anne has safely delivered a healthy & comels baby boy on 21st Nov 2011. Excited betul nak pergi tgk baby Anne, plus nk meet up all the mommies. Our last time gathering pun during Adam's 2nd birthday, *in Nov 2011* and before tu they gathered during iftar at Anne's house. *teringat time tu mengidam roti jala n kari ayam Thara, droooolin'!!*
